The 2nd “Oriental Cup” Chinese Calligraphy Contest Opening Ceremony & CUBP Chinese Calligraphy Salon was successfully held in China University Of Petroleum(Beijing) on Wednesday at 1:00 PM, July 11th.
The event was co-organized by Shenzhen Oriental Art Gallery and College of International Education, CUPB. We were also pleased to invite Mr.Wang Xinhai/Shenzhen Oriental Art Gallery curator, Mr.Zhang Chen/Director of Shenzhen Oriental Art Gallery and Mrs.Liu Xiaoqing /Vice Dean of College of International Education to join this event with more than 40 international students.
Mrs.Liu Xiaoqing expressed thanks to Mr.Wang Xinhai and Mr.Zhang Chen during her speech for their arrival and guidance to CUPB international students. Mr.Wang Xinhai said it was a great pleasure for them to organize this event and they will be looking forward to spread and introduce more about Chinese culture to foreigners all over the country.
David, a master student from Venezuela, has a big interest about Chinese calligraphy and Chinese characters which made him decided to have a try today. His writing also tells that even a foreigner is able to write really good Chinese characters with right guidance and practice. Agahanova Ogulgozel, a language student from Turkmenistan, also gave us her progress work and showed great potential about winning a prize.
The 2nd “Oriental Cup” Chinese Calligraphy Contest is hosted by Publicity Department of Futian District Committee of the CPC (Futian District Culture and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen) and guidance by Foreign Affairs Office of Futian District. It has started from June 11th 2018 and will last until September 9th 2018. In the light of the success of the first "Oriental Cup" and the popularity among foreign friends in China for Chinese Character Calligraphy, the event has been upgraded to a nationwide collection of calligraphy works.
CUPB is glad to hold this event and will keep encouraging international students to experience China and Chinese culture.
